Something I did a while ago and only just got around to uploading.

pencil, & charcoal
fixed up in cs3

based on Shane Achers short film and soon to be movie, "9": [link]

It was difficult finding reference pictures for the monster and background, the short is pretty dark and I had to improvise on a lot of things so there is some stuff that is off a tad.

I hope the movie version is good though, to me it seems transforming a 5 min short into an hour and a half long movie is would be difficult. But if they don't make it seem too childish, I could see this as being a really cool movie.
One thing I don't understand is why do they need voice actors? In the short everyone was silent. And elijah woods? How in the world did they settle on that guy for the voice of 9? Whenever I hear him speak it just reminds me of those awful spyro games. rant rant rant

From the actual trailer, the movie doesn't look childish at all. The robots and creatures are all creepy and deadly-looking, and some guy's corpse can be seen in one shot. Don't forget that Tim Burton's producing the film.

As for the voice acting, I don't think it'll be much of a problem. Elijah Wood's... good enough.


BTW, the monster that you drew has bent forks for feet, so you may want to add those in if you plan on drawing more of this guy.

ah, bent forks makes much more sense, I couldn't tell that was what they were in the vid. ty, oh well, I suppose this will be an interpretive pic of him then
